Chiron & Your Hidden Potential
by Gagan Mann ~
Spring is here even though in our northern hemisphere it doesn’t feel like it is. Nevertheless, there is life under the earth waiting to spring its face to the sun at any moment now.
This month is all about sowing seeds of depth and self-healing. We start the month off with a new moon in Aries giving us an opportunity to put our best foot forward.
Chiron is strong in the month of April as it is shedding light on our identities. This month of Aries is special because of Chiron, offering us some moments of healing and awakenings. Aries (the cardinal fire sign) is all about: “Here I am world.” The true test is shattering the ego and understanding divinity.
Here’s a little information about Chiron and its significance in astrology…
Chiron is a small icy comet orbiting the Sun in the outer solar system. It orbits between Saturn and Uranus. Chiron was named after the Greek centaur (half human, half horse). Chiron is known as the wounded healer, the bridge between Saturn and Uranus and the path to liberation and the wise teacher.
When I first heard of Chiron and its potential to unlock our gifts, I thought Chiron should be the only entity studied in a chart. Little did I know that it takes years to get to that door. I am still learning about Chiron in my own natal chart and continue to learn about Chiron’s energy. My mentor and astrology teacher never put much attention on Chiron and I never really understood why until I started practicing astrology religiously… One must learn to crawl before starting to walk. One must experience one Saturn return (around 28 years of age) before saying that they understand some inner workings of life. To uncover Chiron energy is to have some solid foundation of self and life. Only after we have been wounded a few times, and have learned to get up after every fall, can we truly get closer to unlocking our gifts.
- Chiron is the dual nature of humans.
- Chiron is the teacher of wounds.
- Chiron is spirit and matter.
- Chiron is hidden parts of self.
- Chiron shows us our hidden gifts.
- Chiron spends eight years and one month in Aries.
- Chiron spends the most time in the Aries constellation and least in Libra (only one and a half years) making it a sensitive point right now as it will be in Aries until 2027. Aries is all about strong individuality and Chiron dissolves the individuality making it difficult for Aries energy.
- Chiron is deep healing and awakenings.
- Chiron’s glyph is a key, symbolizing opening the door to self.
- Chiron unlocks the higher consciousness.
Chiron represents how we cope with abandonment, rejection, shame and inadequacy, ancestors, teachers, mentors, trapped energy, healing crisis, shamanism and hyper-awareness.
Chiron healing is all about healing at the soul level and leaving the ego out of it.
As amazing as Chiron sounds, it is one’s life work to fully embody Chiron’s energy. The key that is hidden in each of our natal charts takes much unveiling (like peeling the layers of the onion) and once you get to the core, you must discard it to transcend self into spirit. This reminds of a quote by Rumi: “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean.”
All March to April 14 – Mars, Venus and Saturn conjunction in Aquarius. Even though Venus moves into Pisces on April 4, it still hangs close enough in this conjunction to create strong movement in communities globally. The humanitarian work continues strong. Fighting for freedom continues in Ukraine until someone bends a knee.
All April – Jupiter and Neptune conjunction in Pisces continues. Intuitions are at a high, along with sensitivities. Pay attention to boundaries and overdoing.
All April – Pluto trines the North node. Transformations of all kinds, at all levels, as we shed old skin and learn to move forward in the new world. We are coming out of a pandemic and learning new ways of being. There was so much we had to let go and now we need to determine what we are doing with what’s left behind.
April 1 – New Moon in Aries and conjunction with Mercury and Chiron. This is an opportunity to:
- Take a deeper look at your identity (looking at your own moral code, your ethnicity, your profession, political affiliations, physical attributes, religious beliefs and sexual orientation).
- Address your identity wound (where do you feel inadequate?).
- Discover what is special about you and what gift you have to share with the world.
- Explore what area of your life that you do feel entitlement in.
- Understand what area of your life you most assert yourself in.
April 1 to April 7 – Chiron, Sun and Mercury conjunct in Aries. Themes of inadequacy might come up. See how you can turn that into an opportunity to heal or uncover a deeper layer of self. There might be attributes of yourself which have been in hiding. Information is just waiting for you to download if you allow yourself to be open.
April 16 – Full Moon in Libra. Relationships get a spotlight. Professional partnerships have a chance to be examined.
April 19 to May 1 – Venus, Neptune and Jupiter conjunction in Pisces. With so much water energy, one must consider floating above or dive deep. This might be a time to do either and discover what the connection to divinity means to you.
April 20 – Sun moves into Taurus (from fire to earth). Things start to slow down to establish and nourish the seeds which were sowed in April. Projects may slow down as foundations need to be checked.
Everything in nature is cyclical. We have endings and beginnings all at the same time. April offers us a fresh start yet again – just like a new day, a new beginning.

Gagan Mann was born in Punjab, India where she spent her early childhood before moving to Canada at the age of 12. She has a Counselling Diploma from Counselling Training Institute of BC and in the last 10 years she studied Astrology, Plant Medicine and Hypnotherapy and graduated from the Northern Star College of Mystical Studies four years ago. She loves her rich East Indian roots (the niche for astrology and all things mystical) but it was not until she studied Embodied Astrology that she fully embraced and fell in love with the mysteries of life. Her philosophy for life and with clients is to raise consciousness to break unhealthy patterns that walk with all of us. She loves delving deep into the unconsciousness through hypnotherapy and guiding people with astrology to create potentials and possibilities.
